The Philippines’ world-famous marine life is once again taking the stage at this year’s edition of the Anilao Underwater Shootout, one of the top underwater photography competitions dedicated to macro. Running from May 22nd–26th in Mabini, Batangas, the competition gathers divers, amateur and pro underwater photographers, and marine enthusiasts in one venue. This year’s edition reopens to international participants for the first time since the COVID pandemic.
Comprising this year’s panel of judges are renowned underwater photographers Aaron Wong, Brook Peterson, Franco Banfi, Rafael Fernandez, and Scott “Gutsy” Tuason. The Anilao Underwater Shootout is organized by the Philippine Department of Tourism (DOT).
