Girls of every age rule in documentary
A premiere screening of “She Is the Ocean,” a documentary through Inna Blokhina, director of the award-winning movie, “At the Wave,” shall be hosted through the Santa Barbara Maritime Museum at 7 p.m. Oct. 22.
The documentary follows 9 girls of every age from world wide who percentage a deep and profound love of the sea. Ms. Blokhina decided on the ladies, ranging in age from 12 to 83, to create a portrait of what is usually a metaphor for one lady’s ocean existence via all her ages.
Featured within the documentary are Coco Ho, Hawaiian skilled surfer and daughter of mythical professional surfer Michael Ho; Cinta Hansel, daughter of professional surfer Bruce Hansel; Keala Kennelly, professional surfer and winner of the WSL “Barrel of the Yr 2016;” Andrea Moller, large wave surfer and winner of WSL “Girls Best possible Efficiency 2016” and Giant Wave International Champion in 2019; Anna Bader, German top diver and seven-time Eu Champion in cliff diving; Rose Molina, free-diver and ballet dancer; Ocean Ramsey, shark conservationist and free-diver from Hawaii; Jeannie Chesser, browsing icon and mom of the past due mythical surfer, Todd Chesser; and Sylvia Earle, marine biologist, explorer and the primary feminine leader scientist of the U.S.
“In developing this movie, I discovered that there’s a shockingly distinctive tale at the back of each and every lady. And each and every lady merits to be heard,” stated Ms. Blokhina.
“For just about six years, I’ve been gathering tales of those 9 superb girls to seize their implausible strength of mind and skill to observe their desires it doesn’t matter what.”
Following the movie screening, Greg Gorga, government director of the Santa Barbara Maritime Museum, will average a panel with Ms. Blokhina; Holly Lohuis, a marine biologist who works with Jean-Michel Cousteau; and Ms. Hansel and her father.

The price is $12, and a portion of the proceeds advantages the Maritime Museum.
