Kim Kardashian And Lewis Hamilton’s ‘Surf Date’ In Malibu Ignites Poser Debate
The internet is abuzz.
Reality TV queen Kim Kardashian and Formula One superstar are officially official. And they kicked off their public dalliance with a surfing date in Malibu.
But did they actually surf? Per photos from (who else?) TMZ, the couple was spotted on the beach with what looks like standup paddleboards, kissing and cuddling, clad in wetsuits. But the boards never seem to touch the water. Suggesting…posers?
“Kim Kardashian once famously sobbed over losing a diamond earring in the ocean on ‘KUWTK,’ but this time, it looks like she’s dropped something way more valuable into the water—Lewis Hamilton,” TMZ eloquently scribed over the saucy sighting.
Let’s go back in time.
A few years back, Kim posted a clip of herself while on vacation, wake surfing behind a boat, and pretending to slam a bottle of tequila whilst doing so.
She could surf, granted with the safety of a rope, behind a boat, and not in the actual ocean. But still surfing, right? Sort of.

Then, digging through the trenches of the internet even further, back in 2010, Kim tweeted:
kowabunga dudettes. i’m so pumped to be on this surfing kick. who else surfs out there? gnarly day in the h2o. ridin waves!

“kowabunga dudettes. i’m so pumped to be on this surfing kick. who else surfs out there? gnarly day in the h2o. ridin waves!”
Sounds legit.
As for Lewis Hamilton, he does surf. Not regularly, nor at a high level, but decent enough. He surfed Kelly Slater’s Surf Ranch a while back, and even got barreled.
All the way back in 2021, Hamilton spoke about his love and respect for surfing:
“Surfing is one of my favorite sports— outside of racing. I love sitting out beyond the waves, feeling the ocean around me, it makes me appreciate the power that’s around us everyday. Emotionally and physically this has been a challenging break, but the opportunity to get in the waves has cleared my mind and opened me up to the beauty around us.
I hope to one day surf everyday. Catching that perfect wave and riding it into the sunset. This is me speaking it into existence. If you have a dream, don’t let anybody tell you can’t achieve it. Manifest those dreams by putting your all into it and never giving up.”
Move over Jack and Alana; surfing has a new power couple.
